Seven days on horseback through the Andean foothills of northern Patagonia. We ride from Franco's family estancia outward into terrain that hasn't changed since the Welsh settlers and their gauchos first crossed it in the 1880s. Cold mornings, long hours in the saddle, nights around an open fire. No fixed schedule — we move with the land and the weather.

This is not a guided tour. It's a riding expedition with a small group of people who want to be genuinely out there — covering real ground, in real conditions, with guides who were born in this landscape.

You ride the same horse for the entire week. The group is capped at 6. Franco leads every trip personally.

Day by Day

The Itinerary

01
Arrival
Transfer from Esquel Airport to the ranch. Check-in and brunch. Meet your horse and get introduced to ranch life. Short introductory ride through the valley, followed by a welcome dinner at the ranch.

Full Day Ride
Breakfast at the ranch. Full-day ride to Dugui’s Ranch. Lunch in the forest with views over the valley. Return to the ranch for dinner.

Preparing for Camp & Río Grande
Breakfast at the ranch. Prepare the gear for the camp at El Greda. Lunch at the ranch, followed by an afternoon ride along the Río Grande. Dinner at the ranch.

Ride to El Greda
Early breakfast before setting off towards El Greda. Ride through the landscape and stop for lunch in the forest near the Cordillera de los Andes. Arrive at El Greda, set up camp and have dinner around the fireplace, followed by live guitar and traditional gaucho music.

El Greda, Rivers & Las Mentas
Breakfast at El Greda. Morning ride crossing the Río Greda, with time to swim and explore the ranch. Lunch at camp. Afternoon ride crossing the Río Frío towards Las Mentas. Horses are loaded onto trailers for the return to the ranch. Dinner at the ranch.

Lazo Practice & Working with Cattle
Breakfast at the ranch. Morning lazo practice with the gauchos. Lunch at the ranch. Afternoon ride to Río Grande 2 to work with the cattle. Farewell asado dinner at the ranch.

Departure
Breakfast at the ranch. Transfer to Esquel Airport.
